It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the sudden passing of James (Jamie) Rice of Guelph, Ontario on March 24, 2024, in his 56th year. Jamie is survived by his true love and soulmate, Michelle Pepper. His beloved children, Tyson (Rebecca), Averie (Shawn), Haily (Michael), Griffin, Kennedy, Hunter. Jamie holds a special place in the hearts of Neelan, Naya, Neve and Naveen (Michelle). Jamie will forever remain the adored “Pops” to Forrest, Bronson, Lily, Ivie, Logan, Owen and Austin. Jamie was the loving and loyal son of the late James (Jim) and Elaine Rice, and brother to Lorna (Ardel).

Loved by everyone, Jamie was a larger-than-life figure and role model to most. Jamie valued hard work and making a difference in his community. Known for his generosity of spirit, Jamie was always there to lend a helping hand and volunteered in many community events including Habitat for Humanity and the Guelph Legion. Jamie was a respected tradesman in his community with a reputation for excellent work and honesty in the family business, Jim L Plumbing. The family business was in his blood. He started working with his parents at an early age and over the course of time, came to be the owner and operator. His children and the family business are his lasting legacy. Jamie was talented in many areas, but his favourite hobbies included hanging out in the garage tinkering with his tools. He was the jack of all trades, and master of many. Jamie was known to his friends and family for his infectious sense of humour. Jamie was often sought out for his simple wisdom, and he was wise beyond his years. Jamie enjoyed watching meaningful YouTube videos and often shared them with those he loved. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Visitation will be held at Brombal Funeral Home located at One Delhi Street Guelph Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Brombal Funeral Home. Burial service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
