Geoff passed away on December 6, 2021 at the age of 81 after a short stay at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener. His determination to get through various medical conditions over recent years showed his resolve to keep living his life to the fullest until it was his time to go.
Geoff was a son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife Shirley, children Steven (Jen), Lynne (David) and Anne (Trevis) and four grandchildren Maxwell, Madeleine, Ivy and Cecilia who will all carry fond memories of him - especially his gentle soul, love of food and his sweet tooth!
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Geoff traveled the world (over 50 countries!). While pausing his travels to do graduate studies at the University of Waterloo, he met his wife, Shirley. He changed his plan to go to South America and decided to settle in Ontario, where he lived for over 50 years.
Geoff was a chemist, a lecturer and consultant, at times taking him overseas for further adventures. Many would think him more of an historian and walking encyclopedia. He had a true love of travel and thirst for knowledge - everyone, everywhere and everything seemed to spark his curiosity. In his retirement he continued his knowledge journey until the end. He was always humble, gentle and loving. He will be missed.
