On Saturday, March 17, 2018, at The Village of Arbour Trails in Guelph ON. Born December 10th, 1919 in London England. Loving husband of Joyce Barbara Richardson (née Browne), who predeceased Bill in 2015. Father of Barbara Anderson, Ian Richardson (Mary), and Lindsay Nakatsui (Lewis). Granddad to Megan Oxley (Greg Humeniuk), Brooke Oxley (Chris Newman), Nick Richardson (Adele), Matt Richardson (Danielle), Greg Nakatsui (Erika), and Kimiyo Nakatsui (Matt Perpick). Great Granddad (“GG”) to Katherine and Elizabeth Humeniuk, Bennett and Georgia Nakatsui, Emily Dann and Abigail Richardson.
Bill loved Joyce and devotedly cared for her through her final years. And he loved his far-flung family, and enjoyed visits, phone calls and Skype connections with them, many on a weekly schedule. His shelves were filled with photographs of events and visits, including all the family, children, cupcakes and balloons at his recently-celebrated 98th birthday party. We are all happy that Barbara was with him when he died.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Village at Arbour Trails for their kind service, friendship and assistance. He seemed to be known as “Hi, Bill” whenever he walked through the residence. In accordance with Bill’s wishes, a private cremation has occurred. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Bill’s memory may be sent to The Alzheimer Society of Canada, The Nature Conservancy of Canada, or a charity of your choice.
