Passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the age of 87 (B: August 3, 1929 in Shaunavon, SK). Predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Leonard (Len), (Oct 25, 2003), and her sons, Brian (1974) and Gary (1994). She will be dearly missed by her children; Gail Akerman (David), Port Elgin, Karen Wrixon (John), Guelph, and Kevin (Sue), Guelph . Loving sister of Doris Forest (Barney) and Marielle Malleau (Jerome), Sudbury. Predeceased by her parents, Urgel and Rose-Anna Demers, and brothers, Maurice, John (Gisele) and Roger (Phyllis), and sisters, Irene (Armand) and Dorothy. Loving Memère to 11 grandchildren; Sylvie (Steven), Curtis (Gail), Craig (Mandy), Cara (David), Jessica (Mark), Kerri (James), Max, Gage, Virginia (Brendan), Rebecca, Brent and 14 great-grandchildren; Camilo, Robert, Aidan, Paige, Ainsley, Everett, Colin, Ethan, Brynn, Maeve, Declan, Lennon, Tyler and Noah. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to niece, Laurie.
Mom touched so many lives - she always looked for the strength in everyone she met and brought out the best in them. With her ready smile, her welcoming and understanding nature, she will be missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank the staff at Riverside Glen (Erin LTC) for their exceptional care and compassion towards Mom and the consideration provided to her family.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, ON N1H 2R4 at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. A celebration of life will take place in Sudbury at a later date.
