July 13th, 1929 – March 28th, 2023
Joan Robinson, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Guelph, Ontario, with her family by her side. Joan was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, to parents Helen and Wallace Matheson. She is predeceased by her brother Bob Matheson and sister Donna ‘Pet’ Chapman.
Joan was the beloved wife of Howard Robinson for 69 years; devoted mother of Cindy (Rob Waters) and Diane (Ron LeBlanc) and cherished Nana to Jayson (Megan Simpkins) and Hayley.
She was an avid volunteer for many charities including The Chancel Guild at St. George’s Anglican Church, The Canadian Red Cross, Meals On Wheels, The Canadian Cancer Society. Joan was also a generous benefactor to many local charities.
“Momma Bear” was strong, loving, kind and fiercely protective of her family and friends. Her memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to join us at Gilchrist Chapel, 1 Delhi Street, Guelph, Ontario on Thursday, April 13th, 2023. Visitation will be held at 1pm followed by a service and reception at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Red Cross.
