It is with great sadness the Rogerson family announce that Robert (Bobby) surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully at the Wellington Terrace on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the age of 87.
Robert was raised on a farm just north of Fergus, moving to a farm in the Alma area with his beloved wife Jean to raise their family, later retiring to Elora. As his health declined, Robert move to the Highland Manor, Fergus then to the Wellington Terrace where the extraordinary care given to him is so appreciated. Robert was a Fergus boy that loved his family, farm and community. He was incredibly kind to his family and those in need and leaves his family with wonderful memories that make us smile through our tears. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Alexander) Rogerson (2010). Dearest father of Dave (Patti) Rogerson, Cathy Nesbitt, Pauline Halls, Caroline (E.B) Attaway. Cherished grandpa of Luke (Leah), Meghan (Chad), Drew (Holly) and Courtney (Darcy), Mike (Natasha), Leah (Nick), Kala (Henry) and Brooke. Great- grandpa to Caitlin, Daniel, Hannah, George, Peyton, Riley, Briar, Hunter, Hayden and Ryder. He is pre-deceased by his parents, George and Nellie (Shortreed) Rogerson, his brother-in law Jim Alexander and is survived by his brother, Murray Rogerson (Inger), his sister Esther Clark (Bill), sister-in law Shirley Alexander. Also remembered by Brad Nesbitt and Larry Halls.
Family and friends may visit at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or Fergus Agricultural. Arrangements are entrusted with the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.
