1925-2017
Patricia J. Ross, age 91, passed away June 30, 2017 at Wellington Hospice in Guelph. Pat was born March 18 1926, the daughter of Campbell and Dorothy McConnell. On September 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Dean S. Ross. They were blessed with four children: Campbell (Lyn) Ross (Grafton WI), Sally (John) Vingoe (Rockwood), Peter (Barbara) Ross (Mississauga) and, Elizabeth (Greg) Walsh (Oshawa). They were further blessed with 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by Dean, her parents and sister, Sally McLarty. With her children grown, and after many active years of volunteering with a number of organizations, Pat with Dean retired to a rural home near Port Hope where they lived until recently. In retirement, Pat enjoyed country living, time with Dean, her children and grandchildren and her dogs. Pat enjoyed entertaining and was a wonderful cook. Together with Dean she enjoyed travelling, particularly ocean voyages to distant places. She was especially fond of time on the open sea. Many thanks to the staff at The Village of Arbour Trails and Wellington Hospice for their wonderful loving care for Pat.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel. The family plan on having a private remembrance of Pat’s life at a later date.
