Costanza Rossini (Uliana) of Guelph, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at the age of 93.

Connie was the firstborn child and only daughter of the late Costante and Leonilda (DalBo) Uliana. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband John Rossini (1996). She was the loving mother of Connie MacLachlan and her husband Angus, Linda Longato and her partner the late Bob Zerback and Tony Gillis and his wife Joy (Peloso). Connie was the caring sister to her three brothers Remo (the late Bernice), Leno (Laura) and Corado (Rose). She is survived by her six Grandchildren Diane Longato (Stephen Perry), Jason Longato (Lisa Sartori), Cameron Longato, Josh Gillis (Caroline Timperley), Jordan Gillis (Cailin Smith) and Brenna Gillis (Ryan Dutra) and 10 great-grandchildren Adam, Nathan, Madelyn, Victoria, Sarah, Egan, Avery, Sawyer, Leighton and Samson. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Connie was born in Cappella Maggiore, Italy. She immigrated, with her parents, to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1929 at 6 months of age. It was there that they welcomed three brothers for Connie. They loved the life and people they met in Canada. In 1948, they made the decision to pack up their family and move to Ontario to find new opportunities and employment for their growing family.

Connie was a devoted and hard-working woman. With the help of her family, she raised three strong, successful children as a single parent while working full-time. She was grateful for the Supervisor job she was given at the John Rennie’s Shirt Factory in Guelph. She loved her job and never missed a day. She met and trained many people, many of whom later became friends. She was respected and loved by her peers. She committed herself to Rennie’s for 35 years until she finally retired at the age of 65.

Connie found love with John, later in life. They married in 1979 and created a beautiful life together. They enjoyed travelling with family and friends and were fortunate to see and experience many beautiful places. Thankfully they were able to share a few years alone together, before John Passed away, to relax and enjoy each other’s company once Connie retired. It brings her family peace knowing they will now be reunited.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Elliott for the exceptional care and attention that they provided Connie.

The family will receive their friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N. on Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Parish on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. A Private family interment will take place at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
