ROTHWELL, Elizabeth Anne Knox

In loving memory of Elizabeth Anne Knox Rothwell. Although no longer with us, Elizabeth will be remembered fondly and deeply missed. Elizabeth was the sister of Joan and Robin (both predeceased) and Margaret. She was the proud (but never boastful) mother of Susan (Ching Yu), Christopher (Joy), Heather (Kent), 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Born in India and raised in Northern Ireland, Elizabeth trained as an occupational therapist. She got engaged to Brian, the love of her life, when she immigrated to Kingston, Ontario. During their married life they lived in Kingston, Montreal, Providence, RI and Uganda, finally settling in Don Mills, Ontario. As empty nesters Elizabeth and Brian moved to Guelph in 1984. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2022. Rooted in the Anglican tradition, her Christian faith was the foundation of her being and she was devoted to prayer, Bible study and worship. Kind, gentle, strong, and never judgemental, Elizabeth was hospitable to family, friends, neighbours, church folk, university students and friends. We know that Elizabeth is now in the arms of her loving Saviour and give thanks to God for her precious role in our lives. The family will receive friends at St. George's Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich Street, Guelph, Ontario on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. and the service will commence at 3 p.m. The funeral service will be livestreamed via the church's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNcZ3H62sgkxt85Ku_8G0Cg. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Bible Society or Wellington Terrace would be appreciated.
