Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Hospice Wellington on January 28, 2020 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her husband, Bob. Loving mom to Rob (Pat), Kevin (Agnes) and Steve (Trish). Proud Nan to Angela, Jerry, David (Megan), Jonathan and Karrie (Devon). Adored sister of Rene Evans and predeceased by her brother, Ernie Higgs, both of England. Nellie will be greatly missed by her friend of over 60 years, Pearl Robinson. Nellie was strong, determined and never allowed anything to hold her back, even after losing her eyesight. Nellie was an avid lover of travel and loved her trips back to England to visit family and friends. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Guelph General Hospital and Hospice Wellington for their care and compassion during her last days. A celebration of life will be held at her son, Rob’s, home located 121 Bagot Street, Unit 16, Guelph on Sunday, February 2nd between 1pm and 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Wellington or the CNIB. A tree will be planted in memory of Nellie J. Rudd in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:30 pm.
