Ruffini, Ilario - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing
of Ilario Ruffini who passed away on September 8th, 2021 at the age of
85. Loving husband to Maria Bianca Ruffini. Beloved father of Lorenzo
and Steven. Cherished Nonno of Adrian, Meagan, Bianca and Mikael. Dear
Brother of Peter, Dino, Anna, Edvige and Mario. Will be fondly
remembered by all friends and extended family.

Ilario was born in Vedelago, Province of Treviso, Italy, in 1935. From a
very young age, he loved to work with steel, and apprenticed in steel
fabrication and mechanical work. When he started his adventure in Canada
at a very young age, he was able to use his skills for work and for
artistic creations. Ilario was fascinated with metal art and it became
one of his passions. For anyone who knew Ilario, he could fix almost
anything! He was ingenious and understood anything that was mechanical.
He loved collecting things, and looking for treasure with his metal
detector.

Ilario married Bianca, his loving wife of 62 years, and they had two
children – Lorenzo and Steven. Ilario was devoted, and cared for Bianca
to the very end, even when he was not well. It was the type of love you
read about. He always greeted her with a “ciao bella.”

Ilario will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and
grandfather. He was a great teacher of skills such as pasta making, wine
making, salami making, and growing huge zucchini, tomatoes and pumpkins.
His grandchildren will always remember making pasta, going to garage
sales, and exploring with metal detectors. His entire family will miss
his stories and are comforted in knowing that Ilario is resting in
peace, and that his life lessons will last forever.
