It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michal Rutyna on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the age of 92 years. He was the beloved husband of Josephine (Rygiel) Rutyna for 64 years. Michal was the loving father of Elizabeth (Jack) and Mark (Pam). He was the cherished Dziadek of Peter, Nathalie, Vivian, Joanna, Isabelle and Faith. Michal was the dear brother of Irena, Jan and the late George. He will be fondly remembered by all of his friends and extended family.

Michal overcame many challenges during WWII with the loss of his father in Katyn and the displacement of his family, first to Russia and then to Africa. After the war, he settled in England where he met his beloved wife Josephine. In 1970 they immigrated to Canada with their young family.
