Passed away peacefully on June 2, 2021, in
her 74th year. Judy was the loving wife of Bill Schefter for 48 years.
She was an incredible mother to Kelly (Rob), Patti and Michelle (Shawn)
and dear sister of Michael (Catherine). She was pre-deceased by her
parents Geraldine (1990) and Pat (1998). She will be missed by her
nieces, nephews, many cousins, extended family and friends.

Judy met Bill in Grade 9 at the age of 15. Judy and Bill spent over 32
years on Golfview Road in Guelph where they raised Kelly, Patti, and
Michelle in the company of wonderful neighbours and friends. This is
where Judy created many memories that would last a lifetime with her
family as a stay-at-home Mom. Once her girls were all in school, she
returned to the workforce as an administrative assistant for the newly
elected MPP. She loved the people she worked with and the job because
helping people came natural to her. Throughout her life she had many
jobs but ended her career at the University of Guelph in hospitality
services. Judy and Bill bought a house in Antrim Glen in Freelton to
live out their golden years. They have made some amazing friends at the
Glen and we know they will miss her greatly.

Despite being diagnosed with Lewy body dementia, she never lost her
sense of humour. These past few years showed her incredible strength and
perseverance, ready to fight each challenge “Lewy” threw at her. The
word ‘believe’ became her mantra and she carried herself with beauty and
grace. The world lost an amazing woman who has now gained her wings and
is looking down on us and smiling.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at the Gilbert
MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph
on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 12-4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. To attend a
visitation time, please RSVP on the funeral home website. As expressions
of sympathy, donations to the Waterloo Wellington Alzheimer Society
would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the
funeral home 519-821-5077 or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
