Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19th, 2018, surrounded by his family at Hospice Wellington. Helmut was the beloved husband of Helga Schwenger (Hellmann) for 61 years, loving father of Ronald Schwenger and his wife Carol and Diana Beliski and her husband Joseph. Beloved Opa of Coreana (Dan) Yantha, Dylan Schwenger, Tanya (Matt) Grime, Emily Schwenger and Katie Schwenger. Loving Ur Opa of Addisyn and Ava Yantha and Olivia Grime. Predeceased by his parents Otto and Lydia Schwenger, sister Inge Flaig and brother Rolf Schwenger. Beloved brother of Lore Heymann (Rolf), Paula Schweitzer (Herman) and Avi Otte (Hans). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Helmut enjoyed family time, traveling and gardening. A heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington and much appreciation to the GGH critical care staff. Family and friends will be received at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 2723 Victoria Street North, Breslau, on Tuesday, May 22nd from 7 to 9 p.m and Wednesday, May 23rd from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral Service to follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Wellington.
