Due to Covid we were not able to honour our mother with a formal funeral that she so deserved. Please join our family on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at 10:30am at Holy Rosary Church for a Funeral Mass of Resurrection.

Born April 3, 1949, Peacefully surrounded by her family, on Wednesday April 28, 2021 in her 73rd year, has reunited with her loving husband, Antonio Rossi and their daughter Filomena.

Predeceased by her loving parents, Giuseppe and Francesca Sorbara. She was the devoted mother of Freddy (Maria Rossi), Antoinette (Eric Gowland), Rosanna (Lenny Fonte), Francesca (Jeff Blythe). Cherished Nonna to twelve grandchildren - Nina, Antonio, Chiara Rossi; Michael, Matteo Antonio Fonte; Filomena, Michela, Giuliana Lucchese; Michael Blythe; Nick and Holly Gowland.

Dear Sister of Maria (John Varamo), Maurizio Sorbara, Rosanna (Charlie Campagnaro), Rita (Rick Kiersted) and the late Vince and George Sorbara. Cherished sister in law of predeceased Gerardo (Maria Rossi) of Guelph, Rosa (Pasqualino Senatore), Mimmo (Theresa Rossi), Carmelina (Pasquale Trocchia), Giuseppina (Giuseppe Di Nardo), Anna (Alberto Tortora), Annunziata (Pasquale Cavallaro) and Carolina Rossi all of Pagani, Italy. Nina will be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Guelph, Welland, USA and Italy.

Nina was born in San Giorgio Morgetto, Reggio Calabria, and moved to Rome when she was three years old. When she was twelve years old she and her family moved to Guelph, Ontario. In 1966, Nina and her husband Tony opened their own business, Anthony’s Hairstyling, which continues its legacy with their daughter Rosanna. In 1967, Antonio and Nina were married and together they built a close loving family, that continues to grow.

During Nina’s life, she touched so many lives with her caring selfless nature, her skill as a hair stylist, unforgettable smile and zest for life. She was the epitome of what it meant to be a loving mother and devoted wife. She was the true meaning of courage and strength. She will always be remembered for her stories, jokes and contagious laugh.
