We are sad to announce the passing of Kenneth Jeffrey Sherwood on April 6th, 2024, at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of the late Juliette Pauline Sherwood (2016).
Loving father of Mark (Dianne), Dawn (Alan) Lomax, Alex (Maria), and Tina (Andrew) Szasz. Cherished Opa to Heather (Chris), Nicole (Ryan), Brenden, Matthew (Arshi), Mackenzie, Paige (Andrew), and Thomas (Kirsten). He will also be missed by his three great grandchildren.
Ken was born in London England and came to Canada in 1969 with his young family. He worked in Sarnia with Polysar for 19 years before joining The Cooperators Group in Guelph after which he retired in Rockwood, Ontario.
Ken followed in his father-in-law and Uncle’s footsteps and was a Freemason for more than 30 years starting as a member of Liberty Lodge No. 419 in Sarnia ON, before becoming a member of the Trillium Lodge No. 724 in Guelph ON where he was the Worshipful Master in 1996 and the Walker-Friendship Lodge No.321, Georgetown ON.
Ken was passionate about soccer, playing, coaching and was involved for a number of years with the Sarnia SMAA. He liked to stay active and was an avid Squash player and, in his later years, enjoyed playing pickleball with his friends at the Eramosa Community Center.
He was a talented modeller, making models of military aircraft and his beloved Aymess and Palaver railway where he looked forward to running the trains with his close friends and members of the Platelayers Society.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, no services will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the charity of your choice.
