Elizabeth Anne Shute (Brown)
June 20, 1948 - August 22, 2023
Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Groves Memorial Hospital at the age of 75 years.
Betty cherished spending time with her family, baking, and watching the hummingbirds in her garden.
She is survived by her husband Tom Shute, sons Anthony (Tony) Smith, Alex (Sandy) Smith (Tara), Ted Smith (Erica), step-daughter Holly Frizzell (Troy), siblings Laurie Brown (Millie), Mary Ellen Isenor, Nancy Clair (Al), Linda Duffey, Bruce Brown (Sue), Calvin Brown (Valerie), Marion Snow, Carolyn Shreenan (Pat) and her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Beatrice Brown, her first husband Frank Smith, brothers Aubrey, Dan, Monty, and Bob and sisters Kathleen and Diane.
Special thanks to Dr. Robert Norrie, Dr. Christopher Lund, the nurses in the Oncology Department at Groves Memorial Hospital, and all of her caregivers at home.
A Celebration of Life will take place on at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fergus, Ontario.
Interment will take place on Friday, September 8th at noon (12pm), at Saint Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Enfield, Nova Scotia with a reception to follow at the church hall.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, Ontario.
