It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Margaret Jessie Simpson (Rae) in her 93rd year. Loving wife of the late Alexander (Sandy) Simpson (1984). Devoted mother to Margaret Cook (Tim), Irene Evans (Art), Sandra Marshall (Rick), Keith (Linda), Gail Simpson-Iacocca (Tony), and Pat Thomson (Randy). Adored Grandmother to Darrell (Cynthia), Chris (Suzie), Mark, Meaghan (Jeremy), Michaela (Chris), Alex, Nolan, Jennifer, Michael (Olivia), Daniel, Emily, Mackenzie, Tyler, Jesse (Steph), and Keegan (Kali). Predeceased by granddaughters, Alexandra Iacocca (1990) and Tracey Civiero (2004). Great Grandmother to Mailee, Jema (Mike), Ethan, Nia, Kayla (Ryan), Jayde (Elizabeth), Dakota, Maddison, Hannah, Emma, and Declan. Great, Great Grandmother to Aurora. Sister to Frankie Rae, Bet Gauld (Dod) and Eric Rae all of Inverurie, Scotland. Predeceased by siblings, Audrey, Pat, Ian and Sandy. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom and Dad immigrated to Canada in July 1962 and settled in Guelph where Dad worked as a horticulturist for the City of Guelph until his death in 1984. For 10 years, our family lived at Riverside Park where Mom got to enjoy the gardens and floral clock just outside her door. Mom’s priority was her family and always welcomed them with open arms. Mom was an avid card player and enjoyed the many activities and friends within her building. Our family is forever grateful to the LIHN, to the many PSW’s at ParaMed and to the compassionate staff at Hospice Wellington. As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family internment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice Wellington. Mom will be forever loved and dearly missed.
