SMITH, Jayne Patricia (née Holmes)

Mrs. Jayne Patricia (née Holmes) Smith succumbed to depression on Tuesday,
October 30, 2018 at the age of 61 years. Jayne was the beloved wife of
David Smith for 38 years. Loving mother of Matt (Heather), Spencer
(Gillian), and Meredith (Jason). Nanny of Naomi, Evelyn, Thomas and
Austen. Jayne will be sadly missed by her siblings Mark, Greg and Sandy.
Predeceased by her parents Merton and Helen (née Charno) Holmes.

Jayne loved both willingly and genuinely. The countless people who truly
knew her will always understand; to know her is to both love and be loved.
Love was her greatest strength.

The last 9 months of her life were some of her best, because she felt she
was finally able to live free of addiction. She told her family that she
experienced “the miracle” and was able to start loving life again and
everyone in it. The fellowship gave her this and it was her wish to help
others through the program.

Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home,
1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 2 to 4pm
and 7 to 9pm. A service will be held for friends and family on Thursday,
November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the Lakeside Hope House would
be appreciated by the family.
