SMITH, Ray "Smitty"

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray Smith on August 11, 2022 in Guelph at the age of 83 at St. Joseph's Health Centre. Beloved partner to Shirl Frazier, loving father of Sue (Henry Pieczewski) of Rockwood, Ray (Shana) of California, Lisa (Dan McMullen) of Woodstock. Much loved grandfather to Nikki (Jamie MacDonald), Mya, Kaelin (Jace Wolfe), Taralynn (Izzy Morales), Kylie, Daneen, Morgan, Kadanna, Jordan, Braedan, proud great grandfather to Blakely. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his 10 siblings and his grand daughter Karissa (1999).

Ray will forever be remembered for his love of music, kind heart, witty sense of humor and love of family. He had so many one liners and stories that he loved to tell including 'Ray Smith' night at Tootsies in Nashville. His favourite past time was traveling to different jam sessions, playing music with his friends and family and performing with his band at events.

As you would say, we will catch you on the Flip Side. Love all your #1 Fans.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Guelph General Hospital and St. Joseph Health Centre who treated him with great care over the past several months. Also, special thanks to Noman for his in home care.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm with a Funeral Service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
