SOKOLOWSKI, Jan “John”

Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Anna Sokolowski (nee Widziszewski). Loving father of Jozef (Cyndi), Stanislaw “Stan” (Anna) and Janusz “John” (Nancy). Cherished grandfather of Joe Jr. (Kat), Dottie (Paul), Steven (Jessica), Patricia and Daniel and great-grandfather of Gavin, Owen, William, Benjamin, Leah, Rebecca and Liam. Survived by his sister Krystyna (the late Wladyslaw) in Poland and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Poland. Predeceased by his parents Michal and Anastasia Sokolowski and his sister Maria Sokolowski.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph where the visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A rosary (rozaniec) will be held at 4 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate Church, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. If so desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
