Surrounded by her family at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Rita Soligo (nee Fazzari), at the young age of 87, beloved wife of Guy (Guido) Soligo (2011). Loving mother of Laurine; Michael and his wife Rosy (Zen); Nancy (Joe McCabe) and Marlene and her husband Cameron Bruce all of Guelph. Beloved Nonna of David (Jenny); Greg (Stephanie); Kaitlyn (Matt); Aaron (Jessica); Peter (Laura); Marcus; Rhys; Alex; Meaghan and Melody. Nonna Nonna (Bis-Nonna) of Alexandra, James, Cohen, Myla, and Dominic. Dear sister of Vicki Anderson (late Albert), Yoli Cauz (late Tony), Eleanor Garcia (late Edward), late Mary Fazzari, and late Frank Fazzari (Mary). Sister-In-Law of the late Clara (Louis Zuccala), late Mario (Dorothy), Bruna Polo (late Lorenzo), late Hilda Mann (Jack), and Sylvia McPhee (Mel). Will be missed by many, many nieces and nephews, and her long-time friend, Tina Tersigni.

Rita was a strong and dedicated woman whether it be in nursing, raising four children, or teaching. Rita was proud of her roots and never shied away from talking about growing up in the ward. She became a nurse at a young age and was determined to help those in need. Her kindness and compassion for others eventually led her to teaching nursing. Along with her dedication to helping others Rita was a devout Catholic, who loved to have the Parish Priests over for tea and her amazing tea biscuits. Rita had a positive impact on every person she met, except if you were the server that gave her cold potatoes! Her family will miss her wonderful and feisty personality! Rita was truly the best sister, mother, nonna and nonna nonna that anyone could ever ask for. She will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. As painful as saying goodbye is, she will forever be in our hearts and be looking down on us, reunited with her loving husband Guy.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
