It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anna
peacefully at home with family by her side after diagnosed with brain
cancer 14 months ago.

Beloved wife of 60 years to Walter and loving mother to Philip (Fiona
McCrea), Teresa (Roger) Fontinato, and Christine Benedetti. She was the
most amazing grandmother to Andrew and Nikolas. Anna is predeceased by
her parents Michael and Anastasia Zawadski and her only sister Myra.

Anna was born and raised in Montreal where she graduated from nursing at
the Montreal General Hospital and worked there before marrying Walter
and settling in Guelph in 1961. Here she worked for a time at the Guelph
Hospital and later felt fortunate to be able to stay home to raise her
children. Anna's other greatest passion came from establishing a
beautiful outdoor oasis at her home. Her gardening abilities were
admired by many, and she even won the Lawn and Garden Championship award
from the Guelph Horticultural Society in 1974.

She was a 50 year member of PEO (philanthropic sisterhood), an
enthusiastic member of the Probus Club, and enjoyed many years of Tai
Chi.

Anna was known as a very kind and warm person with a most beautiful
smile and genuine love for everyone. She was highly respected and
dearly loved by all who knew her and is fondly remembered by her
extended family and friends from Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton and Guelph.

Special thanks to Dr. Hirte at Juravinski Cancer Centre, Family
physician Dr. Laird, Bonita and Shelley from Bayshore, the LHIN, and
Anna's many friends and PEO Sisters who supported Anna and us all in
various ways.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252
Dublin St., N., Guelph. As per Anna's wishes, a private family service
will be held in the chapel followed by interment in Woodlawn Memorial
Park, Guelph.

Anna had a soft heart for all charities in need. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Anna's memory to a charity of your choice would be
appreciated. Donation cards are available at the funeral home,
519-822-4731 or online.
