It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Francis Steffler in his 91st year, surrounded by Family at General Hospital, Friday March 24, 2023.

Dad was born July 26, 1932 to Parents Peter Steffler(1980) and Reta Croft (1994). Will be greatly missed by Brother Ken Steffler and Sister Rita Mary Dudley (Louie-2015), Beloved wife of 68 years Jean (Molet). Dear Father of Ken (Eleanor), Judy (Tony), Paul (Natalie), Susan (Dave), Marie and Peter. Father in Law to Juan Carlos. Proud Grandfather to Sarah, Jay (Gillian), Maggie (Craig), Christopher (Robyn), Whitney (Kris), Danielle (Justin), Lisa (Kevin), Krieg (Erica), Molette (Ty), Tracy (Tim), Carla (Ethan), Jeff (Jenn) and Chad.

Great Grandfather to Lucas (Angelina), Harlie Ann, Andrew, Roslyn, Olivia, Brooklyn, Adara, Addison Jean, Lainey and Ella, Sweet Baby Girl to arrive in April.

Survived by Brother-in-law Patrick Campbell (Eileen-2019), Eleanor Bot. Predeceased Brother-in-law to Bette Goodwin (2018), Ralph Goodwin (1995), Joan Bateson (2017).

Dad will be missed by many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

Dad was working in Windsor at the age of 16 and he got a call from his buddy they called Brit. He said we are joining the army and going to Korea, Dad said “where is Korea”, Brit said “I don’t know, but we are going”. Dad left his job in Windsor, went home and packed for Korea. Dad returned home from Korea and in 1955 he married his Bride our Mother, and the rest is history. 

After providing for 6 kids paying off a mortgage, Mom and Dad purchased a motorhome and started to travel. At the age of 62, Dad retired and they toured across Canada and into the States in their motorhome with Family and Friends. Meeting many People along the way. Dad was active in the Korean Veterans Association of Canada. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch (234).

Dad, we love you and we will miss you

RIP…until we meet again.
