STRICKLAND-PRESCOD, Dominic Nigel

With sorrow filled hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dominic. Our angel boy passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the age of 26.
Dominic is best captured by the quote, “If you can’t handle me at my worst you don’t deserve me at my best”. At his worst and best Dominic was unforgettable.
 
He was larger than life, an old soul who was passionate, loving and protective of his family and friends. To those he respected and those he called family he was unbelievably loving, respectful, kind, funny, sweet and loyal. Dominic had a zest for life and was fearless.  He was wise beyond his years, intelligent, articulate and had a heart of gold. His charisma, way with words, infectious laugh and smile could steal your heart. Over Dominic’s short time on earth, he stole many hearts of family and friends alike however his one true love was his love for his daughter Kiley. She will forever hold his heart and he will live on through her.
 
From a young age Dominic was independent minded. His parents Danny and Brenda cherished him and fostered his independence and open mindedness. As he grew from a child to a man he held onto his innate beliefs even when they bucked the social norms. On his arm the tattoo “Death Before Dishonour” bore tribute to his beliefs. He was raised in faith and his search for his own truth led him to Islam. He embraced his new faith with the same open mindedness and independence with which he approached life. He found solace in the teachings of Mohammed and was at peace with his God.
 
Dominic loved his family deeply and was deeply loved in turn. There are no words to describe the immense love, joy and laughter he brought to his family.  He had his struggles in this life and our hearts ached for him during his trials and tribulations, yet he walked proudly in his good times and his bad times. He knew those who loved him and knew him best cherished him in his good times and wept with him during his hard times.
 
With great love comes great pain. Hence, the family and friends of Dominic weep from the immense pain and loss felt at his sudden passing. Dominic’s passing leaves a hole in the hearts of our family that can never be filled. Although he has passed away our love for Dominic will never die.
 
Beloved son of Brenda Strickland (Justin Swain) and Danny Prescod (Beverley Summers).
Loved brother of Jordan Meagher-Knight (Tasha Pike), Tristan Fish, John Bard, Dylan Schaefer (Brittany), Dalton Godding (Kayla Pettitt), Don (Danielle) Godding, Ambar Pilon (Jay Seiler) and Michael Pilon (Michelle Owen), and Jayden Swain.
Cherished grandson of Valerie and Ray DeMarco, Pamela Prescod Knight-Boyce, and the late Roaul Knight of Black Rock, Barbados (2008).
Will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles: Debbie (Chad) Louttet, Roaul Prescod-Knight, Richard Prescod-Knight (Diane Merrick), Jacqueline (John) Swan, Michelle Knight, James (Shanna) Knight, Keith Corkum-Knight, Amanda Livermore, Nicole Strickland (Mike Smith), Adam (Jenn) DeMarco, Chysa Strickland (Joseph Hernandez) and Beau Strickland (Jessica Gerber).
Will be a cherished memory for his aunts, uncles and cousins in Barbados: Jeffery (Liz) Best, Cherry Daniel, Chesterfield Browne, Phil Hayward (USA), Chedriann Daniel, Blossom, Brandi, Akeem, and Daniel Brown, Keiandra Yearwood, and Phil Jr.
Will be greatly missed by his many cousins:  Christian and Kyle Louttet, Kevin and Katelyn Gardiner, Bryce Deforest, Brandon and Brittany Merrick, Johnathon Swan, Isabella Swan, Lisa O’brien, Carla and Jeremy Swan, Taylor Knight-Rowntree, Sean Knight, Damien & Kayla Hirtle, Tre Corkum Knight, Kofi Knight, Charles, Henry and Riley Smith, Taylor and Chase DeMarco, Mason Strickland, Amaya and Saphira Hernandez.
Will watch over his nieces and nephews: Julian, Riley, Bentlee, Phoenix, Kai, Brooklynn, Bronx, Hope, Braxton, J.D., Jackson, Summer, Rayne, Drew, Brooklyn, TJ, Kassandra and Dustin.
Will forever be loved by numerous family members and friends in Canada, Barbados, USA and England.
His ancestral memories will live on through his Daughter Kiley Brown
 
A private family service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11 am. Guests are invited to attend remotely by Zoom using the link on the funeral home website – www.wallcustance.com. Private burial to take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph.
 
Memorial contributions to in Dominic’s memory to CAMH – Men’s Mental Health would be appreciated.
