STUART, Vaughn Maurice

Vaughn Maurice Stuart, 77, of Guelph, Ontario passed away June 21, 2020, at
Guelph General Hospital. He was born April 30, 1943, in Harvey, New
Brunswick, the son of the late Howard and Pearl (Brewster) Stuart.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Carol Elaine (Eagle) Stuart, having
celebrated 54 years of marriage in April; his two sons Michael and his
wife, Lisa, of Guelph, and Daniel and his wife, Rena, of Guelph; his four
grandchildren Sara, Lucas, Charles and Yara; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Charles and
Gerald.

Vaughn attended Riverside Consolidated School in Riverside-Albert, New
Brunswick, later receiving a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the Macdonald Campus
at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec and a Masters in Agricultural
Economics from Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania.

In 2006, Vaughn retired as Head of the Agriculture & Agribusiness Markets
for RBC Royal Bank in Ontario. Vaughn first joined RBC in 1979 based in St.
Catharines. Vaughn and his family relocated with RBC to Elmira and later to
Guelph before retiring. He worked for RBC for 27 years. Prior to his
banking career, Vaughn worked for both Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and
the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

Vaughn was a lifelong supporter and passionate advocate of Canadian
agriculture with a cellar full of Ontario wines. Vaughn served the industry
in many avenues including board positions with Agricorp and the Centre for
Rural Leadership.

His sporting passions included Penn State football, the Toronto Blue Jays
and the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball teams. Vaughn was always there to
support his two sons in all of their endeavours as their biggest fan and
supporter, and continued that unflinching support for his grandchildren.
His stories, advice, quiet confidence and commitment to family will be
deeply missed.

is especially grateful to Dr. Thomas Tobin, Dr. Christopher Morris, the
staff at the Guelph General Hospital and many other medical professionals
in the Guelph area who supported Vaughn throughout numerous health
challenges and helped give him more time with his family.
