Sadly passed from this life in Guelph, Ontario January 26th, 2023, after suffering a stroke. He was just 65 years old. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Ab and Gwen Roland on May 7, 1957.He grew up in the tiny town of Nokomis, Saskatchewan with his sister Jane, working on the family farm. Dave came to Ontario in 1980 and graduated from Devry, obtaining a Electronics Engineering Technician degree but it was in 1989 when he apprenticed as a Class A Mechanic that he found his true calling. Excelling in this field for over 40 years, He loved what he did and paid it forward by sharing his knowledge and expertise, enriching the lives of many.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his friend and former partner Heather and her extended family; John, Judy, Tony, Michelle and Jeffrey. He proudly worked and mentored at Andy's Auto Shop where his work family: Dave, Steve, Kim, Dave, Brenda, Will, Brandon, Nick, Braden and Ryan remember him most for his wry wit, consistency, endless patience and consummate professionalism.
Dave will be remembered as a loyal, kind and gentle man always willing to share his heart and his knowledge selflessly.
Visitation will be held at the Gilchrist Chapel McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031) on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. followed by a Service of Remembrance in the Chapel of the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Benham officiating.
