It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bill Sutton at the age of 87 years on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

He was born in Warrington, England where he met the love of his life, Beryl Bailey.  The two of them eventually settled in Guelph, Ontario to raise their family. As a long-time employee of BC Hydro, he would often travel both for work and play with Beryl by his side. This allowed for the blossoming of many solid friendships both near and far. Also dear to him was family, camping at Killbear park, and playing in the oceans off Aruba.

Bill loved household gatherings with laughter radiating as he had to admire Polly Pockets, toy cars and toy trucks. At these gatherings he would also be forced to play Rummoli, or he would offer to do dishes to get out of it. His love for the family shone through as he made sure he had time to sit through many hockey games, dance recitals, Christmas concerts and baseball games.

Beloved husband and best friend of Beryl for 67 years. Devoted father to Alan (Caroline) Sutton, Leanne (Michael) Swart. Cherished grandfather of Desirée (Jason), Brendan (Lindsay), Melinda, and Olivia, and adored by great grandson Ajay.

Family and friends are invited to Brombal Funeral Home & Cremation Care, One Delhi Street, Guelph (formerly Gilchrist Chapel) on Sunday, September 3 for visiting between 1 – 2 p.m. with the family hosting a celebration at 2:00 p.m., luncheon to follow. Cremation will take place at a future date, as will the burial of cremated remains at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph. Memorial contributions to Make a Wish Canada would be greatly appreciated. We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at:  www.brombal.ca where they will be directed to the family.
