It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of our father Janos (John) Szucs on the 18th day of March, 2021, in his home at the age of 79 with family by his side. Words cannot express how deeply loved and cherished he was by his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

John enjoyed a successful career as a specialized machinist, business owner and mentor for more than 50 years and was respected by those who knew him and worked alongside him. He was a thinker and a problem solver and could always be counted on for help. He always had a smile on his face and a great story (or many) to tell. Kind, patient and an exceptional listener, John always made time for everyone, most especially his three grandchildren who he loved more than anything. A nature lover at heart, John spent endless hours navigating the roads of northern Ontario with Mom over decades, exploring, wandering and enjoying Earth's beauty, usually without a specific destination in mind. For them, it was always about the journey together.

Born in Novi Sad, Serbja to Erzsebet and Janos Szucs on October 6th, 1941, John is predeceased by his beautiful wife Valerie and survived by his loving children Rob Szucs (Pam) and Susie Stauffer (Jeremy), his sister Ilonka Acai and brother Laszlo Szucs (Valerie and family). He will be most deeply missed by the biggest, sweetest treasures in his life, his grandsons Tenzin and Atlas and his little Ladybug Hannah. He will also be very missed by his brother-in-law Les Ach, nieces Marta Ateljevic (Steva), Valerie DeSimone (Joe and family), Aranka Merrick and family, Barb McKechnie and family, his nephews Zoltan (Piroska and family), Michael Ach, and the Czsimar, Veres, and Ugrnov families.

A very special thanks to Gilbert MacIntyre & Sons (Megan) and especially to Mike MacIntyre for his wisdom and kindness. The heart is never ready Dad, but your story will continue through us all.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for the future. Please consider donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada in lieu of flowers. (www.natureconservancy.ca). Please also feel free to reach out with personal memories and condolences to [email protected].
