Following his retirement he spent some time in Dildo before moving to Guelph, Ontario. However, in 1988 he moved back to Dildo to stay with his partner and best friend, Pat.

Walt loved enjoying the great outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or cutting logs no matter what it was, he enjoyed it. He was also a big fan of shed parties with the boys, but most of all he dearly loved spending time at his cabin in Terra Nova.

Pat would also like to thank the staff of 1 south and 1 north, for the great care they took of Walter during his 4 year stay.
