Taylor Barbara MM

 January 23, 1932-January 1, 2022

Mom passed peacefully three weeks before her 90th birthday. Predeceased by her husband and best friend Stanley (2013).

Daughter of the late William and Helen Corstorphine. A stay-at-home mom, she helped raise five children, Rob (Gwen), Holly (Jim), Bill (Dianne), Greg (Carmen) and Colin (Joanne) and when time allowed, she volunteered at the Victory P.S. in the library during our tenures there.

Many a summer she spent delivering one or more of us to St. Joseph’s emergency, running through the field behind our house, the rest in tow. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

She was a grandmother of six, Courtney (Adam), Stephanie (Donnie), Samantha (Jon), Rachael (Jarrett), Tiegh and Ryan. Great grandmother of six, Ava, Leah, Carter, Lauren, Andrew and Claire.

Mom was an avid gardener, serving many terms as Horticultural Society President, and along with Dad, created a landscape of gardens and pathways in their yard with many rare plantings. A greenhouse allowed her to grow orchids from all over the world.

An accomplished landscape artist, many of her works still hang in the home. Knitting and sewing clothes for herself and her family was her passion. Always willing to take in stray animals, many cats and a dog, along with anything else that followed us home. A notorious squirrel feeder, not caring what anyone thought.

At mom’s request, there will not be a service. Cremation has taken place. Spring interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph in the columbarium wall. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

A long and fulfilling life!

If one wishes, donations can be made to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital towards the purchase of a new MRI scanner or to the Guelph Humane Society.
