John passed away peacefully surrounded by love on March 26, 2022 at the age of 75.
John was extremely devoted to his family and is now reunited with his wife, Irene Teeter. (April 22, 2021). His three girls were the light and love of his life and he is now dancing up a storm with his daughter, the late Michelle Mackey (Kevin), and lovingly missed by daughters Rae-Anne Frazer (Mike Kilby) and Sarah Teeter (Matt Webb). Beloved brother to Heather Martin (Hugh) and Papa/Grandpa to nine grandchildren; Nicole, Blake and Claire Mackey, Lauren, Jack and Brett Frazer, Tyler, Abby and Kyle Beecraft.
John grew up on a local farm in Guelph and married his high school sweetheart Irene. He went on to a successful career that extended over 30 years as an Insurance Broker with John Sutherland & Sons Ltd. in Guelph. John was deeply involved in the Guelph and area community serving on various boards and municipal council. John was the kind of person who seemed to know what to do and how to help often taking calls from family and friends at all hours of the day. John loved a social gathering, a good joke and a good laugh. He will be greatly missed by many.
John had a passion and love for woodworking and golf. He would often be seen on the links or teaching his grandsons how to play golf, always with a good cigar in hand.
As John would say to his family and friends, pitter patter let’s get at ‘er…..visitation for John and Irene will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 1pm-4pm.
A tree will be planted in memory of John Teeter in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
