Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Hospice Wellington on Wednesday, August 17 2016, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband John (J.D.) Teeter (1983). Loving mother to Mary Anne (Ron Campaigne), Allan Teeter, Martin Teeter and Gail (Dave) Heffernan. Sister to Evelyn Brown and sister-in-law to Doug Leadlay. Cherished grandmother to Ryan Myers, Andrea Heffernan, and Greg (Meaghan) Heffernan. Great Granny to Isabelle, Christian and Maddie. Aunt to many nieces and nephews in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Leona will be greatly missed by many friends, especially at the Evergreen Seniors Centre. Mom requested a very informal celebration of her life, so all are invited to join us for some light refreshments, remembrance and socializing at Lakeside Church, 7654 Conservation Rd., Guelph on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Leona E. Teeter in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
