Tessier

July 26, 1943 - April 2, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, yet peaceful passing of Bob Tessier on Saturday April 2nd at the Guelph General Hospital. He was in his 78th year and was the loving son of the late Robert and Jean Tessier of Guelph, Ontario.

Loving husband to Donna Tessier (nee Williamson) for 42 years. Brother of Ann Kinch (Richard) of Newmarket, Ontario.

Much loved father of Ken (Andrea) Tessier, Kelly Salisbury (Dustin) and Karen (Scott) McCormack and loving granddad to Jade (Tim), Alex, Ryan, Matthew, Spencer, Hali, and Mallary.

Aside from his grandchildren, Bob was most proud of Red Top Taxi and Red Car Service which he co-founded, co-owned, and operated with his good friend Bob Morris. He also co-owned and operated Airways Transit of Kitchener and Hamilton.

He was an active member of the Rotary Club for several years where he had a chance to host an exchange student, Jose Chiavassa of Argentina who also became a cherished member of the family.

He was also a long-standing member of the Guelph Country Club where he loved to curl in the winter and socialize on the patio in the summertime when he wasn’t at his cottage.

In his younger years, Bob had a passion for aviation which resulted in him becoming the youngest person in Ontario to receive a pilot’s license at the age of 17 at that time. His enthusiasm was not only for planes but also extended to hang gliding

He will be greatly missed by his loving and loyal canine companion Bailey and all his friends at the Guelph Country Club.

Instead of a funeral as per his wishes, the Family of Bob Tessier will host a “Celebration of his Life” at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Road East, on Saturday, April 9th from 12pm to 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Guelph Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home or online under his obituary at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
