For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not parish but have eternal life

Henry Thiessen peacefully completed his journey on Earth and was promoted to Glory on March 28, 2024. He was surrounded by love, as he excitedly looked forward to an eternity with Jesus.

Henry was deeply cherished by his family, especially his wife Betty Thiessen, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Their union blessed them with two children:  the late Jocelynn (2022) and Jacquelyn (Darcy), along with three Grandchildren, Korrinne (Brian), Seth, and Owen and two Great Grandchildren, Charlotte and Henry.

A devoted servant of the Guelph Bible Chapel, Henry’s life was dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus. He served in various capacities throughout the Chapel and eventually as the Pastor of Visitation, demonstrating his passion for serving others.

Throughout his life, Henry exemplified a humble devotion to God and a commitment to serving others. He concluded his career with the City of Guelph Fire Department as Fire Captain, and he volunteered on many different boards and organizations throughout Guelph and Guelph Eramosa Township. Most notably was his time on the board of directors for Woodlawn Cemetery.

Those who had the privilege of knowing and loving Henry rejoice that he has been called home into the loving arms of Jesus.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph.

A visitation will be held on Friday April 5th from 10-12pm, with a Celebration of Henry’s life to follow at 12pm. Reception to follow.

When we all get to heaven,

what a day of rejoicing that will be!

When we all see Jesus,

we'll sing and shout the victory!
