It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of George Tilley, with his family by his side, on September 3rd, 2022 in his 89th year.

Beloved husband of the late Joan Ann Tilley (Ricard) of 49 years. Loving father to the late Michael (Junior), Rosemary and Robert. Cherished grandfather to Brenda (Colin), R.J (Jazi), Amber and treasured great-grandfather to Shania, Preston, and Braedyn. Dear brother of Leo (late Carol), Roy (late Marjorie) & Gerald (Maureen); brother-in-law of Earl (Diane), and Naomi. Also survived by many loved nieces & nephews. George is predeceased by his brothers Harold, Twin, Owen (Jessie), Watson, Dave, Woodrow, and Otto; sisters-in-law Margaret (Billy), Theresa, Isabelle and brother-in-law Michael.

All extended family and friends will deeply miss but fondly remember George especially his loving companion Roxy.

George was born in Northern Arm/Botwood, Newfoundland on February 18th, 1933 and a resident of Guelph for over 50 years. A hard worker & an avid animal lover. George cherished his family; nature walks with his dogs and enjoyed his Bingo at the Guelph Royal Canadian Legion.

A special thank you to the nurses, PSW’s and staff at Hospice Wellington and the Guelph General Hospital for the care and kindness given to George.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00am - 1:00pm followed by a Funeral Service in the chapel beginning at 1:00pm. All are welcome to live stream the service on the internet via ZOOM. Link to follow below his obituary at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com . Please note the service will be streamed at 1:00pm EST and 2:30 NFT. The family welcomes guests to join them following the Funeral for a reception in the Hart Fellowship Lounge.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington, The Guelph General Hospital Foundation, or The Guelph Humane Society would be appreciate by the family.
