TINGEY, John Brent

Brent Tingey passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the age of 72. He was the proud father of Stacy Hull (the late Ted) and Christopher (Jennifer). Much loved Grampa of Ashleigh and Wesley. Brent was the dear brother of Lorne (the late Klora), Marvin (Marion), Sam (Joanne), Tom (Peggy) and the late Barry.  He is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.  Brent retired as Acting Platoon Chief of the Guelph Fire Department in May of 1999 after 30 years of dedicated service.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting with his brothers, family and friends.  He also enjoyed camping and road trips with his truck and camper.  In recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Friends called at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph  on Wednesday, March 8, from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service at the Gilchrist Chapel on Thursday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. with visiting for one hour prior.
