Tuesday May 8, 1934 - Monday November 29, 2021

After a valiant and courageous battle with dementia and diabetes, the family of Santa (Santina) Tucciarone (nee Latini) are saddened to announce the passing of their beloved mother, sister and Nonna at the age of 87.

Santina was born in Leofara, Province of Teramo in the Abruzzo Region of Italy on May 8, 1934. She is predeceased by siblings Cenzo (Elisa), Lindo (Maria), Domenica (Pietro), Ida, and Gilda. Survived by brothers in law Angelo and Francesco. Sister in law to the late Giuseppe (Vanna), the late Pasquale (Maria), Antonio (Lina), Mario (Dina), and Maria (Alessandro), along with dozens of nieces and nephews who adored her as their Zia Santina.

Tragically, after only 39 days of living without the love of her life Vittorio (Vic Tucciarone) whom she was married to for 62 years, Santina and Vic are once again reunited and holding hands. She is survived by her adoring children; Perry and Cynthia Tucciarone (Alexandra/Wolfgang, Melanie/Greg and Kyrha), Vinnie and John Griese (Dylan, Adam, Emma and Jackson), Teresa and Glenn Henry (Victoria, Zachary/Amanda, and Joshua), Lorry and Alexander Du (Jacob and Jonathan) and Lisa and Scott Campbell (Lily and Owen).

The family thanks the staff at The Elliott Community for treating their mom like family, with respect and dignity.

Santina was a sweet, loving, generous and devoted friend to everyone she knew. She and Vic started their life together in Etobicoke and then moved to Guelph where they established and grew a beautiful life together. She adored her 5 children and 14 grandchildren and there was never a more tireless, devoted mother when it came to her family. Perry, Vinnie, Teresa, Lorry and Lisa share endless stories of their incredible childhood, which they greatly attribute to the strong and compassionate character of their mother. Friends of Santina’s children, and neighbors all over Guelph referred to her as “Mom” or “Mrs. T”. They knew that the door was always open which resulted in many evenings with the kitchen table full of friends enjoying large plates of her pasta, meatballs and pizza. You were expected to arrive hungry to the Tucciarone home, and you were expected to eat (and drink Vic’s homemade wine) until you could eat no more. Without question, a table full of friends and family made Santina and Vic the proudest of the beautiful life they built, and leaves their children with the incredible memories shared to this day.
