Of Guelph, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at Guelph General Hospital on Friday, March 29, 2024, in his 62nd year.

Beloved husband of Patti.  Loved father of Kayla (Shawn) and Sammi (John).  Loving grandfather of Alexis, Everson, Daxton and Kamryn.   Dear brother of Todd (Carol), Kevin (Keesha) and brother-in-law to Colleen Stone and Mike (Kim) Stone. Also survived by his nieces and nephews Foxx, Joss, Aja, Megan, Katie, Ashley, Aaron, and his great nieces and nephew Owen, Willow, and River.  He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles.  Predeceased by his mother Donna Edith Louise Jones, his father Cornelia Wilhelmus Van Den Enden, and his mother-in-law Gail Elizabeth Stone.

Mark worked for Mohawk Racetrack for 35 years, starting out as a groomer and trainer and later moving to security and maintenance. For many years Mark coached soccer in Acton and played baseball with the Acton Condo League.

Anyone who interacted with Mark was first met with his hard exterior before they could reach his soft and caring side. He had a big heart and could chit-chat until your ears fell off.  Mark would always be cracking jokes filling any room with laughter.  He loved all animals and was known to come home with a few wild friends to care for over the years.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Hespler Legion, 26 Schofield Rd., Cambridge. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

Memorial contributions to the Canadian Red Cross and the Horse Rescue Ontario & Sanctuary would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Mark W. Van Den Enden in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
