Of Guelph, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017, in his 69th year. Beloved son of the late Boudewyn van Leeuwen (2003) and Hendrika van Essen (1996). Dear brother to Guy (Francina), Ben (Sandra), Neil (Vera) and Jake (Ruth). Predeceased by a brother Henry (2012). Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 1-2 pm. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. to celebrate Dirk’s life. Reception in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or World Vision would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Dirk van Leeuwen in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
