Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Friday, December 18, 2020, with her family by her side in her 102nd year. Beloved wife of Gerrit “George” (2013). Predeceased by her dearly loved twin sister, Henriette. Loved mother of Jan Vandermeer, (Liza) Hetty (Charlie) Kuiken, Gwen (Terry) Flaherty and Andy (Kim) Vandermeer. Loving Oma of Nel, Molly, Adriaan, Nikol, Jacob, Jessica, Anna, Edward, Stephen, Gerrit, Ryan and great grandchildren.
After living through the trials of both the great depression and the second world war, our mother bravely emigrated to Canada independently and worked as a nursing assistant in Kitchener. She was followed to Canada by our father. They married, had four children and built their lives together. Adri’s courage and sense of adventure created many great experiences for them. Adri was a great example of strength and stoicism. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
