It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Tony Verdone, a beloved husband, father, nonno, and a pillar of the community. Tony passed away on February 27, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family.

Devoted husband to Margaret for 46 years. Loving father to Christopher (Tina), Justin (Angie), Jayme (Jennifer) Verdone. Cherished Nonno to Liam, Caleb, Ryan, Zachary, Jaela & Amelia Verdone. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers John (Kay), Angelo (Valerie), Frank (Christa) Verdone, and sister Carm Bornino. Brother in-law to Gayle (William) Inett, Bryan (Helen) and many nieces & nephews.

Born on December 20, 1951, in Guelph, Ontario, Tony was the proud founder of Spartan Electric Ltd., a thriving business he established in 1976. Throughout the years, he built a legacy of hard work, dedication, and integrity, leaving an indelible mark on both the industry and the countless lives he touched.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tony loved to golf. He was a long-time member at Cutten Fields in Guelph, where over the years he achieved the remarkable feat of seven hole-in-ones, a testament to his skill and love for the game. His collection of cars, with a special fondness for his 1966 convertible Mustang, showcased his appreciation for classic automobiles.

In addition to his love for golf and cars, Tony had a whimsical side, collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia that brought joy and nostalgia into his life. His enthusiasm for these cherished items reflected his playful spirit and love for the magical moments in life.

Tony was a proud Nonno, finding immense joy in the company of his many grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom, creating lasting memories, and leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

A seasoned traveler, Tony explored the world, but his heart found solace in cruises, especially when shared with his beloved wife, Margaret. Their adventures allowed them to create a tapestry of beautiful memories that will be cherished by those who were fortunate to witness their love.

Last year, Tony experienced an unforgettable European family trip, surrounded by those he held closest to his heart. The laughter, shared stories, and the warmth of family created a mosaic of happiness that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who were present.

Tony Verdone leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will live on through the stories and memories shared by family and friends.

The family would like to send heartfelt appreciation to Dr. William Scharpf and the staff in the NICU & Hospice units at Bayfront Hospital St. Petersburg, Florida.
