With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Christiana on August 13, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre at the age of 89. Survived by her loving husband Evert of 69 wonderful years. Proud mother to Gerry (Andrea) and Jim (Tracey). Devoted grandmother to Emily, Laura (Eric), Nick (Laura), Mike (Emily), and Peter (Amy). Treasured great grandmother to Connor, Megan, Molly, Paisley, and Owen. Cherished sister to 12 siblings. Predeceased by her parents Jan and Cornelia. She will be missed by all her friends and extended family.
She was a volunteer for many organizations including GMHA, Mothers Auxiliary, CWL, and the Canadian Cancer Society. She also loved knitting and needlepoint and donated her knitting many times to charities.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph, where the family invites friends and relatives for a visitation on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St, Guelph on Thursday, August 17, 2023 beginning at 10:30am. All are welcome to join the burial at Marymount Cemetery following the Mass and a reception in the church hall after the burial.
