Died peacefully in hospice care at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph on October 9, 2017 at the age of 81. Gracious and supportive wife of 57 years to The Rev. Tom Watson. Kind and patient mother of Valerie Gullett (Wayne) of Wawanesa, MB, Lorinne Martino of Brantford, ON, Sandra Watson-Brown (Derek) of Port Sydney, ON and the late Maureen Declercq. Cherished grandmother of Katie Missinne (Brad), Lindsey Gullett (LeeAnne), Jaslyn Davidson (Shawn), Eric Declercq (Nick), Taylor Declercq, Andrea Martino, Kennedy and Clark Watson-Brown, and great grandmother of Dylan, Carter, Bo and Allana Davidson. Sister-in-law of Ruth Haddock (Harry) of Merlin, ON and Margaret Mills of Chatham, ON. Janice is also remembered by Katrina Declercq (Allyson) of Tillsonburg, ON. Predeceased by her only sibling, Don Mills. Janice graduated from London Teachers' College and taught kindergarten before starting her own family. She was delighted by children; loved sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts; and was known for being fun-loving and hospitable. Janice was a life-long member of the United Church of Canada, a life member of UCW and a member of Guelph Wellington Stroke Recovery. Janice’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses, PSWs and all other professionals and friends who have provided care and comfort to Janice and to them. Private burial will take place in Straffordville, Ontario cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at Trinity United Church, 400 Stevenson St. N., Guelph, on Sunday, October 29 from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions to Trinity United Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
