Frederick (Fred) Webster passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 26th, 2022.

Fred was born in Guelph, ON on April 24th, 1946, the first of five children to Barbara and Harry Webster. Fred lived in many Ontario towns growing up, including St Mary's, Owen Sound, and Brockville. While in high school in Brockville, Fred met his future wife, Kathy, at a football game, when she noticed and liked the colour of his jacket (blue, of course). After attending the University of Guelph, Fred graduated and became a Chartered Accountant, working for most of his career with Revenue Canada in Ottawa, Toronto, Belleville and Mississauga.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Kathy (nee Prophet) and his loving father Harry Webster, Fred will be dearly missed, always loved, and forever remembered by his devoted mother, Barbara, and his children, Sherri, Paul & Jeff, his son-in-law Scott, his daughters-in-law Kim and Sarah, and his "2nd daughter", Michelle (Jamie). His much-loved grandchildren, Alyssa (Stacey), Megan (Scotty), Sarah, Sydney, Brennen and Mekena meant the world to Fred.

Fred's sisters Judy, Dorelle (Francis), Barbara (Stephen), his brother Tom (Birgit), all of his in-laws, Aunt Mary, cousins, nieces and nephews are deeply saddened to say goodbye so suddenly. Fred's many close and treasured friends will always remember him with love and fondness.

Fred will be missed for countless reasons, such as his devotion to family and friends, especially to his cherished Mother. He loved their time together, and they would often exchange quick witted lines with each other with such a similar zest for life. Fred's sense of humour is well known, and his family affectionately call it, "Webster Humour". Fred was happiest when surrounded by family, enjoying a beer (or two), at a backyard barbeque, pool-side or at the cottage. Fred could often be spotted strolling through different neighbourhoods during his daily long walks; he didn't sit still well and always enjoyed exercise. Music was often playing, and his kids have childhood memories of waking up to Fred listening to his favourite songs on his headphones, early on weekend mornings. Another favourite pastime was watching the Blue Jays, and he rarely missed a game.

Fred has so many important titles in his life - son, husband, brother, Dad, Pops, Gpa, uncle, and the one he was excited about was great-grandfather We know he will continue to watch over us.

Our family will always be grateful to the three special people who helped Fred on February 15th. Without them, we wouldn't have had the chance to say goodbye. We are also grateful to the kind and supportive nurses and doctors at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, who helped us through this incredibly difficult time. We want to express our deepest thanks to our extended network of family and friends who love Fred and offer their unending support.

Fred told us all that what got him through the loss of his wife Kathy was his faith and knowing that one day they would be reunited. While we expected that to be decades in the future, this is the one thing that gives his family and loved ones comfort at this time.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Registration is not required, but it is asked to be fully vaccinated to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Fred's name to support his nephew's community at the Live & Learn Foundation, an organization that provides funding for adults with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities.
