Whiteley, Joseph Deryck (Joe), the loving husband of Georgia Whiteley (predeceased May 2008), died on October 13, 2023 at the age of 90.  The son of the late Cyril D. and L. Viola Whiteley of Moncton, New Brunswick. Survived by his children: J. Deryck (Wendy) of St. Louis, MO; Jennifer D. (Paul Robinson) of Ottawa, ON; and Jill D. (Brian Lamb) of Hamilton, ON.  He is also survived by his siblings Mary Lou (Reg Bungay) of Victoria, BC, John of Moncton, NB and predeceased by his brother Ralph (Joan) of Moncton, NB.

His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren Nicole, Jason, Leah, Colin, Christopher and Jessica, and by his great grandchild Natalie.  He will also be fondly remembered by the family of Cathy Cousens (predeceased February 2021) who he lived with for 7 happy years.

He was a proud graduate of the University of New Brunswick in Mechanical Engineering and enjoyed a long and successful career specializing in ABS plastic pipe extrusion.

Joe loved and enjoyed his family and was very proud of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.  He was a long standing and very active member of the Masonic Waverly Lodge in Guelph.  He had a passion for photography and documenting the Whiteley/Brooks genealogy.  And for many, many years he was an avid homemade doughnut maker which was always enjoyed by family and friends.

The Whiteley family will receive relatives and friends at the Brombal Funeral Home (formerly Gilchrist Chapel), One Delhi Street, Guelph on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow in the Trillium Room of the Funeral Home.
