WOODALL Gordon

Passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 22, 2017. Gordon Woodall left this earth to go and join his wife Leone in the presence of the Lord. He left behind his children, David (Donna), Pauline and Brenda, his grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Naomi, Laura and Emily, his great granddaughter Catherine, and Pauline's beloved dog Niki. Gordon was born in Derby, England on August 2, 1925. In 1942 at the age of 17 he joined the Royal Air Force, serving in India and returning to England to be part of the Code and Cipher core till the end of the war. He immigrated to Canada in 1950, where he met and married the love of his life, Leone (nee Tanner). They celebrated 61 years together before her passing in 2012. Gordon worked as a Charted Management Accountant for Sidbec Dosco (Mytel) in Toronto until his retirement at the age of 62. He was a lifetime member of the Guelph Horticultural Society and sang with the Royal City Ambassadors Barbershop Chorus, Golden Horseshoe Chorus and Tri-City Gospel Chorus. He loved to garden, sing or play golf - a very active 92 year old until his sudden death. Special thanks to the caring strangers who helped perform CPR on him at Starbucks in Stone Road Mall on the evening of Saturday Dec 16th. Your kindness gave him 4 more precious days to spend with his family. Thanks to Dr. Peter Hendrie and the staff of Guelph General Hospital ER, ICU and 5 East.

His family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6 - 9 p.m. A celebration of life to commemorate Gordon's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. If so desired and in lieu of flowers, donations to Sleeping Children Around the World or Harmonize for Speech would be appreciated by his family.
