Mr. Michael Woof passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the age of 70 years. Devoted husband of Jeannie Woof (nee Campbell), proud father of Cameron (Christy) Woof and cherished grandfather of Benjamin, Elijah and Eden. He is also survived by his brother Craig (Leslie) Woof and many nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his parents Harry and Margaret Woof.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Michael, along with his wife Jeannie, spent the past 40 years building their lives in Guelph, Ontario. A graduate of Mohawk College’s engineering program, Michael worked as a design engineer for many years. He later went on to work for City of Guelph Transit into his retirement.
Michael spent a lifetime actively involved in the community; at times a volunteer firefighter, event security officer and scout leader. He has been a proud supporter of the Elora Festival and, more recently, a board member of the Guelph Evergreen Centre.
Michael had a passion for travel, a taste for good barbecue, and always looked forward to Sunday drives with the love of his life, Jeannie.
Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel (Hart Chapel 1099 Gordon St. Guelph,Ontario) on Sunday July 25, 2021 between 1-4pm and 6-9pm. Due to COVID restrictions please RSVP through the funeral home website. A private funeral will be held Monday July 26, 2021 by invitation only.
