YOUNG, Leslie Alexander - Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in his 98th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of 49 years to the late Rilla Young (nee Norris, 2014).
Loved father of Leone (Paul) Schadenberg and Janice (John) Edgecombe.
Loving grandfather of Annemarie (Allan), Adrian (Ashley), Erika (Pat), Evan, Megan, Sarah and Daniel.
Great grandfather of Pearl and Warren.
Dear brother of Betty (Delmer) and Velma.
Predeceased by siblings Gladwyn, Stanley, Austin, Olga, George, Vida, Vernon and Levada.
Leslie will be fondly remembered by many family and friends.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m, and Friday 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
The Royal Canadian Legion Col. John McCrae Memorial Branch 234 Service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Guelph Poppy Trust would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Leslie A. Young in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum.
