(October 22, 1929 – June 1, 2017) - It is with sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Michael John Zaduk announce his sudden yet peaceful passing at the age of 87 years at his home in Guelph on June 1, 2017. Mike was the deeply loved husband of 69 years to Audrey (nee Turton) and cherished father of Peter, Michelle (Graham McAnulty), Kimberley (Anthony Galioto) and Steven (Ramona). He was predeceased by his infant son, John. Mike was the proud and dear Papa of his grandchildren, Sarah (Pat Johnston), Erin (Mark Ellis), Nicholas (Anna Farber), Michael, Steven (Colleen Harrington), Kristine (Stefano Bosello), Laura (Ryan King), James (Katie), Samuel, Avery and Alec and great grandchildren, Madalynn, Charlotte, Elsie, Porter and Baby J. He was the brother-in-law of Valeria “Boots” Zaduk and will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents, John and Iryna Zaduk, his parents-in-law James and Jean Turton, his brothers Nicholas, William (Lorna) and Peter, his sister Sarah, his brother and sister-in-law Roy and Phyllis Turton, and his daughter-in-law Viola Michalski. He will be sadly missed by his pet cat, Chloe.
Mike will always be remembered as a loving and generous, hard-working, family man whose passion was his wonderful garden. He was an intelligent, intuitive and insightful man who valued education and instilled a strong work ethic and sense of family into each of his children. He loved his home and, due to the devotion of his wife and care of a special group of caregivers, Martina, Haydee, Wendy, Virgil, Gerry and Spring, he was able to remain comfortably at home throughout his final years.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at 48 Hillcrest Drive, Guelph on Sunday, June 25 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. (please refrain from wearing fragrances). Memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or St. George’s Anglican Church would be appreciated

A tree will be planted in memory of Michael J. Zaduk in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
